**Updated**Nurses join collaborative health teams across the province, including Truro and Westville
Twelve communities across Nova Scotia are welcoming twenty-three new nurses.
The Nova Scotia government says these nurses will be welcomed into collaborative clinics throughout these communities by the end of May
Premier Stephen McNeil made the announcement on Wednesday, which includes the addition of one nurse practitioner and two family practice nurses in Truro.
The province also says one nurse practitioner has already started working in Westville.
In total, thirteen nurse practitioners and ten family practice nurses are joining existing collaborative care teams across the province.
The province says as a result of this project, 14,000 more Nova Scotians will gain access to primary care.
