**Updated** Overhead wires ripped down on Glenwood Drive in Truro

**Updated at 5:01 p.m.**

Glenwood Drive in Truro was closed from Harris Avenue to Grandview Drive for a few hours on Tuesday after an accident brought overhead lines down on the road.

Access to Glenwood from King Street was also blocked after the incident, which happened around 2:30 p.m.

Truro Police tell our newsroom a tractor trailer was heading down Glenwood, when a gust of wind opened up some awning, which caught the wires.

Sergeant Robert Hunka says the wires were power, cable, and telephone, with Eastlink, Bell Aliant, and Nova Scotia Power converging on the scene to repair the damage.

He says there were no injuries and it's not suspected that driver error was to blame.

Sgt. Hunka says their primary concerns were children being let out of school around that time, as well as the downed wires.

Glenwood Drive was expected to reopen around 5 p.m.
