**Updated** Teen charged with second-degree murder in death of Chelsie Probert

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 18-year-old Chelsie Probert. 

Halifax Regional Police say the teen was arrested on Thursday at a home in Dartmouth and was held overnight. 

He appeared in Halifax youth court on Friday and is scheduled to return next Thursday to give a plea to the charge. 

On June 6th, police responded to a report of a woman in medical distress on a pathway in the 0-100 block of Albro Lake Road around 10 p.m. 

Officers say when they located Probert she required immediate medical assistance and was transported to hospital where she later died from her injuries. 

The Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide. 

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
