Upper Musquodoboit man, 54, dies in ATV rollover

Police say a Nova Scotia man has died after an ATV rolled over during a turn and pinned him underneath it.

Nova Scotia RCMP say the 54-year-old man from Upper Musquodoboit, N.S., was riding on a side-by-side ATV with a passenger at around 11 p.m. on Friday on a trail near Dean, a small farming and forestry community in Musquodoboit Valley.

During a turn, the vehicle overturned and the driver was pinned beneath it while the 47-year-old passenger was ejected.

The passenger walked for ``a number of hours'' from the trail to a roadway, where he reported the accident to a passing driver.

RCMP and the Upper Musquodoboit Fire Department were called just after 6 a.m. and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The passenger had non-life-threatening injuries and was treated by emergency services.
