Weapons charges laid following traffic stop in Gold River

A 48-year-old man from Gold River has been issued a seven-day suspension of his driver's licence for alcohol consumption following a traffic stop Friday night.

Lunenburg District RCMP say officers seized open liquor, a handgun, and ammunition from the vehicle.

The man has since been released from custody and faces a number of weapons related charges.

He's due in Bridgewater Provincial Court in May.
