A 21-person crew of wildfire fighters from Nova Scotia is heading to help crews in Ontario.

The group is leaving Halifax tomorrow and the province says they'll spend two to three weeks on the fireline near Thunder Bay.

Nova Scotia's assistance was requested through the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre.

In May, Nova Scotia sent 21 firefighters to help fight wildfires in Alberta.

Government says the Department of Lands and Forestry will ensure proper firefighting resources are maintained within the province.
