Winter storm expected Tuesday into Wednesday
Meteorologists say they're keeping an eye on a major winter storm that is expected to hit the Maritimes Tuesday afternoon.
A low pressure system is forecast to develop Monday then intensify as it tracks northeastward toward the Maritimes Tuesday.
Environment Canada says Nova Scotia will see a mix of rain, snow and high winds, with Colchester, Cumberland, Hants and Pictou counties are all under a winter storm watch.
The storm is expected to begin as snow Tuesday afternoon, with a significant impact on the afternoon commute.
The snow should change over to rain sometime Tuesday night, or Wednesday morning.
