Woman charged after contraband cigarettes and alcohol seized in Lower Truro

A 75-year-old woman has been arrested after a complaint about an erratic driver in Masstown led to the seizure of contraband alcohol, tobacco, and cash.

The call to police around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday reported the minivan on Highway 104, and officers located and searched the vehicle in Lower Truro shortly after.

Police say the items seized include thirteen bottles of illegal alcohol, twenty-one cases of unstamped tobacco, duty paid tobacco exceeding the allowed limit, and approximately $2,000 in cash.
