Woman charged with impaired driving after going wrong way on Highway 102
A 24-year-old woman is facing charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample after a report to police that a car was driving the wrong way on an on-ramp.
RCMP say the small white car struck another vehicle on the Highway 102 on-ramp at Exit 3 for Hammonds Plains, causing minor damage.
The car continued to head outbound, in the inbound lanes of the highway, towards Bedford.
Police received a second call while en route to the first that the car left the road, struck the ditch, and was facing the wrong way near Exit 4C for Bedford Common, nearly 18 kilometres from the initial collision.
The driver, a woman from Halifax, was arrested and charged, and is due in court next month.
