Woman injured in Halifax car crash following attempted vehicle stop
The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating after a car crash early Friday morning in Halifax.
Police were attempting to pull over the vehicle on Agricola Street around 3:50 a.m., but SiRT says the car quickly accelerated and hit a power pole near the intersection with McCully Street.
The man driving fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time later.
Another man remained in the car and was unhurt, but a woman in the backseat sustained fractures to both legs and her wrist.
SiRT has assumed responsibility for the investigation into the circumstances of the attempted stop, and are asking any witnesses of the crash to contact them.
