World Junior A Challenge tickets go on sale Thursday
Tickets go on sale Thursday for the World Junior A Challenge, which is being held in Truro at the end of the year.
The Rath Eastlink Community Centre will host the international showcase of Junior A hockey talent from December 10th to 16th, with six teams and thirteen games.
Organizers say full-tournament packages, the only way to secure reserved seating, are $175.
They're available Thursday online at 10 a.m. at HockeyCanada.ca/Tickets, in-person at the RECC, or by calling 1-888-311-9090.
Anyone who buys they're full-tournament package in-person Thursday can also take part in a free skate at the RECC from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Organizers say anyone who buys the $175 pass but can't attend all games can donate those tickets back, and the committee will ensure they're given to those who might not otherwise be able to attend a game.
This is the third time the World Junior A Challenge has been held in Nova Scotia, following successful runs in Yarmouth in 2012 and 2013.
Since its inception in 2006, more than 230 NHL draft picks have played in the tournament, including 36 first-round selections.
Event Chair Dave Ritcey said in January that the local economic impact is expected to be between $2 million to $3 million.
