Upper Stewiacke girl granted wish for her own horse
This Thanksgiving is one that Jayden Trueman from Upper Stewiacke, N.S., will not soon forget.
The Children's Wish Foundation has granted the 12-year-old's wish of having her very own horse.
Officials from the foundation and several community groups showed up at her home Saturday to make the presentation.
At the age of four, Trueman was diagnosed with polyarticular juvenile arthritis, which causes inflammation in five or more joints.
She has been working with the horse and gaining experience at a local stable for some time.
The Children's Wish Foundation grants wishes to Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
Over 1,100 wishes have been granted in Nova Scotia so far.
