The Simpsons wrapped up their 30th season with a record

The Simpsons might be the longest-running primetime scripted series ever but that didn't stop it from experiencing an all-time low in ratings during Sunday's season 30 finale.

The show featured special guests such as Illeana Douglas, Werner Herzog, and Jenny Slate, it only attracted 1.44 million viewers, which is low for any Fox show. Its rating for adults aged 18-49 was also the lowest its been with a paltry 0.5.

It's like seeing an old friend going down a sad path. You want to support them but at the end of the day you just can't watch anymore. The show is renewed for another two seasons but it might be time to just pull the plug.
