• 2018 Leo Boivin Midget Hockey Showcase

    Thursday March 22nd , South Grenville has teamed up with the Town of Prescott to host #roadtotheleo event. It will include games, fun and public skating from 6 to 7 pm. Players from the South Grenville Rangers, Rideau St Lawrence Kings, Brockville Braves and the visiting Newbridge Academy from Nova Scotia will be there to skate. This event is free to the public. Also, the 46th Leo Boivin Showcase will start with Game 1 on Thursday night at 7:30 pm. Kingston U18 Frontenacs will take on the U18 squad from the Canadian Hockey Academy (CIHA). The tournament games will begin on Friday March 23rd at 9 am, with games being played throughout the weekend. The 4 final games will start at 1:30 on Sunday and the Leo Boivin Championship Game will take place at 7 pm Sunday night. All events take place at the Leo Boivin Community Centre in Prescott.
  • Reopening of Railway Tunnel

    It’s the reopening of the Railway Tunnel Saturday March 31st. A live band will play starting at 10:30 AM; dignitaries Gord Brown, Steve Clark, Mayor Henderson, Dave LeSueur will say a few words; a food truck will be there with coffee and hot chocolate; the DBIA will run an Easter egg hunt; the 1000 Islander chorus will sing accapella in the tunnel. The official opening will take place at 11:00 AM ; then the tunnel will open for traffic and stay open until 9:00 PM; then each day after.

  • Bands for Beth

    Bands for Beth Fraser is a concert on March 24th at 2 pm at St. John's United Church - a concert to support full accessibility for Beth. Opening the show will be Sue Baker and the 1000 Islands Jazz Band. Following an Intermission featuring a silent auction and refreshments, Alexander's Big Time Band, featuring Christopher Coyea and Alex Fleuriau-Chateau will play the second set.     The Annual Rotary Park Easter Egg Hunt will be held on: Saturday March 24, 2018 at 11:00am Cost: Free Meet us at the Rotary Park off of King St West in Downtown Brockville to hunt for eggs throughout Rotary Park. This is event is free and is for families and Children up to age 12. Following the Easter Egg Hunt there will be a hot dog barbecue.
