#LifeWithCharlie - Another Year Come And Gone

As I start to pick up the pieces of another Christmas come and gone (much too fast) I reflect on how lucky I am to have all that I do.

I have a loving husband (that leaves his socks EVERYWHERE). I have an INCREDIBLE kid (that pushes every single one of my buttons). I have AMAZING and SUPER helpful family. I have great friends (even if there’s only a handful of them). We have a home to call our own (that we’ve been renovating for 5 years) and a TON of food in the fridge...Like, A TON. Why is it that I so often find myself thinking, and sometimes saying, FML.

I think it’s something we all do. We take what we have for granted. We compare ourselves to others. We simply don’t take the time to sit back and appreciate where we are in life. Life can be a real B sometimes and just because you don’t have the same tropical vacation pics on your Facebook that ‘what’s her name' does or you aren’t able to swing ‘date night’ once a week like 'what’s his name' does, doesn’t mean you have a ‘less than’ life. It means your priorities are different than theirs. It means their circumstances are different than yours. Different does not equal less.

So the next time you’re scrolling along social media and think, “ I wish I had that” look at what you have and think, “man I’m glad I have this".

Cheers to 2018!
