Mel's World: Are you ever too old for Teen Packs? Also a new Video Game I'm playing
My favourite time of year....ok, one of my favourite things that happen during the year is when the Teen Packs arrive at the Drug Store. It's a box full of great things that really are a deal when you put it all together. Full Size Shampoo, Body Wash, and a razor will EASILY cost you more than 12 bucks. But with a Teen Pack at $11.99 you get bonus goodies so what's not to love. I usually pick up a couple before they are gone.
Also, there's a new game I'm playing it's called Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. It's $40 in the PS store, and so far it's worth the cash. It's not a first person shooter, it's more like Final Fantasy, where you play the character complete a task, and the game plays out a sequence, then you're back in control.
What I found intriguing when I read the game synopsis is that Psychiatry Professionals, as well as people who have experienced psychosis, helped to guide the development of Senua.
I am in NO WAY suggesting that playing this game would help you to understand what a person who is experiencing psychosis is going through, but, if there is someone in your life who has had experienced this, it might open your eyes a bit. Understanding that this can be very complex, I'm only speaking in terms of the game.
In order to experience the game as the creators intended, you need a surround sound set up, or surround sound headphones. Without giving much away, Senua is a Viking Warrior and her tribe is wiped out. So she makes a vow to go to Valhalla to get the soul of her lover back. I highly recommend it, if you're looking for a different game experience this might be it. But be warned, it will make you uncomfortable.
