• 2018 Asian Heritage Month

    May is Asian Heritage Month, the theme of this year’s celebration is Passing It Forward: Culture Through the Generations. On May 9th (12:00PM-1:30PM), the Opening Ceremony and the launch of the ExplorAsians Exhibition will be held at the Fredericton Public Library Art Gallery. On May 12th (1:30PM-3:30PM), a Henna Demonstrationis happening at the Fredericton Public Library Art Gallery. On May 20th (2:00PM-4:00PM), an art workshop will be taking place at the Fredericton Public Library Art Gallery. Finally, on May 26th (7:00PM), the Asian Heritage Cultural Gala will be happening at the Fredericton Playhouse, and will feature Gamelan Giri Kedaton performing classical and contemporary music and dance of Bali, Indonesia. All of these events are FREE, so come and participate in the Canada wide celebration that is sure to be another exciting, informative, and important event at the celebration of the 2018 Asian Heritage Month!     The Grand Lake Wellness Network "1 K Spring Fun Foam Run" for kids (aged 12 and under) will be held at Queen's North Community Health Centre on Friday May 25th at 6pm- $10 per child and every child who registers before May 3rd will receive a T shirt and a medal. The Grand Lake Wellness Network "5 K Spring Fun Foam Run/Walk" will be held at Queen's North Community Health Centre on Saturday May 26th at 9am- $25 per person and everyone who registers before May 3rd will receive a t shirt and medal. Open to all ages (kids who participated in 1 K run can register free of charge, but will not receive a second shirt or medal). Races will start at the Queen's North Community Health Centre in Minto.     The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a nationwide event that brings communities together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and commit to raising funds to fight all types of cancer.     "1st Annual Running Start Community Race" to take place June 2. At 8am. This is a great event for beginner runners and to introduce children to running.
