Oak Bay-Gordon Head


Get to know this Electoral District:

Encompassing the municipality of Oak Bay and parts of eastern Saanich, Oak Bay-Gordon Head was the site of the BC Green Party’s first major election breakthrough when Andrew Weaver won in 2013 (10,722 votes).

He defeated long-time MLA and Liberal cabinet minister Ida Chong (7,767 votes) who represented the riding since 1996. The NDP’s Jessica Van der Veen finished 3rd (7,563). The BC Conservative Party’s Greg Kazakoff  was 4th (492).

Weaver, now BC Green Party Leader, is the incumbent heading into a competitive May 9th contest in Oak Bay-Gordon Head.
