Body found outside Lake Cowichan officially ID'd as missing Oak Bay senior

The BC Coroner's service has confirmed a body found in a remote area near Lake Cowichan is that of missing senior Gladys Barman.  In a release Oak Bay police say the family has been notified.

The 82 year old Oak Bay resident was last seen on July 5th at a Royal Oak gas station.

Her car was found 2 1/2 weeks later (July 24th) on a logging road outside lake Cowichan.   One week later (July 31st) a search team found remains 11 kms from where the car had been discovered.

The elderly woman had been experiencing some signs of confusion prior to her disappearance, but the family members have said there was nothing to raise alarm.

Oak Bay police are expressing their condolences to Barman's family and say since this is now a Coroners file they will not be making further comment.
