Disciplinary hearing for former police chief Elsner begins Monday
After several delays, a disciplinary hearing for former Victoria Police Chief Frank Elsner begins Monday.
This hearing is specifically on the workplace harassment allegations made by the police union, involving four female employees. It's alleged Elsner engaged in unwanted physical contact, made unwelcome remarks of a sexual nature, and leered inappropriately at female staff members.
It's separate from other allegations of inappropriate twitter messages exchanged with the wife of a subordinate officer.
This week's hearing will be led by a judge and should last several days this week. However, the entire process could take 4 to 6 weeks to conclude.
If allegations against Elsner are proven -- the judge could recommend disciplinary action. However, Elsner already left the force having resigned last year.
