Early Morning Earthquake Off The Coast of Victoria

Many residents in Victoria were woken up to just before 6am to what some descirbed as 'like a truck hitting the house.' others thought blasting was being down at the Mackenzie interchange.

Just before 6:00am there was a 3.1 magnitude earth quake in Sequim, Washington. In the waters between Vancouver Island and the US. There was no Tusnami Warning issued, and no reports of any damage.

This serves as a reminder that we do live in an active area for earthquakes, and that having an emergency kit and plan in the event of a disaster is always a good idea.
