Female cyclist threatened on Galloping Goose Trail

A female cyclist had a scare on the Galloping Goose Trail in the area of Burnside Rd Thursday morning when she tried to move a log that looked like it was intentionally placed across the path.

VicPd were called about 8:45 am when the woman reported a man brandishing a knife leapt from nearby bushes and confronted her. She was not physically hurt - and managed to flee and call police.

Officers located a suspect and arrested him. They say he bears a striking resemblance to a man reportedly throwing rocks at cyclists earlier in the morning in Saanich.
