Ferry frustration for Thanksgiving

Long lines and delays met Ferry travelers on holiday Monday, especially on the popular Swartz Bay to Tswassen run. "It was packed there were no empty seats the restaurant was full so we had to sit on the floor."

In spite of the fact that BC Ferries added 80 extra sailings over the course of the long weekend, there were lineups even for walk-on passengers throughout the day.

Some travelers say they've never seen waits and lineups like what they saw Monday. "I've been here 37 years, not even during expo days was it this bad. I've never seen a walk on line up ever!"

The delays lasted well into Monday evening with the seven; eight and none o'clock sailings filling up.

BC Ferries took the rare step of adding a Monday midnite sailing to the Swartz Bay to Tswassen run as well.
