Former military member charged in connection with a 2010 sexual assault at CFB Esquimalt

A former military member has been charged in connection with a 2010 sexual assault at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt.  The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service confirms Simon Duvall, a former officer of the 4th Artillery Regiment is charged with one count of sexual assault.

Duvall -- was a member of the Armed Forces at the time of the reported assault.

Duvall was charged with a similar offence in November last year involving another member of the Armed Forces at 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown. The assault was reported to have taken place between December 2010 and January 2011.

Because the accused was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces at the time of the reported assault, the matter is now proceeding in the military justice system for possible court martial at a date and location still to be determined.
