Hit and run crash at Harriet and Burnside

Saanich Police are on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a hit and run Friday morning at the intersection of Harriet Rd and Burnside Road West.

They say black four door Mercedes had been travelling west on Burnside Rd East when it drove through a red light at the intersection of Harriet Rd. A “T-Bone” style crash occurred when a Dodge Caravan travelling through the green light, north bound, on Harriet Rd struck the Mercedes.  As a result of the impact the Mercedes was spun into two other vehicles waiting at the red light on the other side of the intersection on Burnside Rd West.

After the collision the Mercedes fled west bound on Burnside Rd West.

The driver of the Caravan suffered, what appear to be, minor injuries.

Saanich Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the black Mercedes sedan, which likely has significant damage to the rear drivers side of the vehicle.  You can call Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 orCrime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
