Mother with toddler flashed in Nanaimo

Nanaimo RCMP is searching for a man who flashed a woman and her one-year-old son and then threatened the unnamed woman.

The incident took place at Colliery Dam Park in Nanaimo. The female victim does not want to be identified but she wants to warn other women who might be walking in the area to be on alert. "He whipped out his parts, exposed himself and told me to get down (to perform oral sex) or he was going to throw me in the river."

Const. Gary O’Brien says they are taking the incident very seriously. "We know this person may do it again. If they’ve done it once, they may do it again, so we're hoping the public will assist us in identifying who this person is, and we can put a stop to it."

The man is described as 5'5" tall Asian or First Nations, between 35 and 45 years old, 5’5 inches tall with a thin build, and was wearing a red hoodie and baggy hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
