Smokey Skies advisory lifted for Victoria and most of the island

The Ministry of Environment has ended the Smokey Skies Bulletin for Greater Victoria and a large chunk Island but it has been amended for the northern part of the Island.

Rain and wind is expected for this evening on the southern parts of the island and puts an end to the advisory that was issued on August 4.

A wild fire south of Port McNeil may continue to cause localized smoke impacts on Northern Vancouver Island so the Ministry has amended its bulletin for the northern part of the island.

Overall it has been lifted for Greater Victoria, the inland part of the island, the southern Gulf Islands and the the west coast of the island.
