Special weather statement issued for Greater Victoria - hot weather coming
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Greater Victoria, warning that an unseasonable strong ridge of high pressure is expected to build over B.C. bringing hot weather.
Temperatures will start to climb tomorrow (Friday) and will reach the low 30s by Sunday in areas away from the coast.
The weather pattern will also make the airmass quite stagnant, and it's possible that combined with developing outflow winds, wildfire smoke could return to the coast.
The weather office says their computer models indicate the ridge will be persistent, with the hot weather lasting until at least Tuesday.
