Sport Injury website launched on International Move for Health Day
Perhaps you want to know how to heal a hamstring pull? Or your bicep is being bothersome?
This is International Move for Health Day. From badminton to boxing, skiing to surfing; if you have a nagging sports injury, a new website is giving parents, kids, coaches and teachers easy access to injury prevention information.
An average of 900 BC children and teens are hospitalized each year due to sports-related injuries.
The website offers injury prevention information for over 50 popular sports and recreational activities, including soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, ice hockey, kayaking, hiking, snowboarding an yoga.
Active & Safe Central was developed by the BC Injury Research & Prevention Unit at BC Children's Hospital - in partnership with injury prevention experts, sport injury specialists and sport organizations across Canada.
