Unseasonably high temps continue, no rain in forecast
Greater Victoria broke a 51-year high temp record on Thursday -- reaching 25.6 celcius.
We weren't alone in the warming trend.
Port Alberni topped out at 28.7 on Thursday, toasting the previous record high temp of 26.2 set in 2016.
Environment Canada reports 15 temperature records were broken across BC yesterday, and several more could fall today as a heat wave settles across the province.
Environment Canada says a strong ridge of high pressure is responsible for the unseasonable heat. The weather office predicts some regions in the interior will top 30 celcius by Sunday.
