UPDATE: Crash closes Douglas near Uptown
Saanich Police have provided a few more details about Thursday night's crash that closed Douglas Street near Uptown for over six hours.
Police say a black Ford Explorer had just left the gas station at Douglas and Tolmie Avenue when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled. That was around 11pm.
The driver suffered minor injuries but a passenger was hurt badly. Police describe the injuries as serious but non-life threatening.
Police say, due to the seriousness of the crash, collision analysts and forensic identification officers attended. The road reopened only at 5:30am Friday.
They say it's too early to say what caused the driver to lose control as their investigation continues.
