UPDATE: Wind and Rain Warnings Issued Across Vancouver Island
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warnings for Southern Vancouver Island.
Heavy rain is expected as a vigorous frontal system hits East Vancouver Island tonight and tomorrow, bringing over 50 mm of rain by tomorrow afternoon on the Malahat between Goldstream and Mill Bay.
Meanwhile, the West side of the Island is expected to receive 150 mm, with 100 mm in the forecast for Inland Vancovuer Island. The rain will ease up tomorrow afternoon
Similar rainfall warnings have been issued between Duncan and Nanaimo, and Nanoose Bay and Fanny Bay, where it's expected to receive close to 100 mm of rain.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions, so please drive carefully.

The weather system is also bringing strong winds to the Courtenay/Campbell River and Nanoose Bay/Fanny Bay regions. Winds are expected to reach 70 km/h. These winds can cause damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows. It can also bring down branches, knock out power, and toss loose objects around.
