Victoria city council votes in favour of motion to address parking problems in downtown
Victoria city council passed a motion tonight which will allow city staff to bring forward recommendations to address the parking in city lots in downtown Victoria. Councilor Geoff Young believes the city should be able to manage the stock of parking they have. "We only have so many spaces available we've got to use them as well as we can to meet our objectives."
Mayor Helps says she is curious to learn more about what city staff will propose. One of those proposals could be an increase in hourly rates at certain times or possibly a new parkade.
