Victoria Earth day activities
A group of Students gathered at Fort Rodd Hill Saturday to plant trees and learn more about biodiversity for Earth Day.
As part of celebrating Canada 150 entrance to national parks is free and Saturday Parks Canada Naturalists gave a guided tour through the Garry Oak Learning Meadow.
Shane Muldrew explains why Earth day is important. "If they care about nature all the trees and shrubs then it's more likely we will have more protection around the natural resources that we have."
The day featured a species at risk booth to engage the senses with special demonstrations, games, and crafts focusing on pollinators and the native plants they depend on.
