A Victoria man is going to jail for seven years for a home invasion last fall.

33-year-old Robert Jendyk was accused of hitting a woman with a potted plant while inside her home on Oct. 24, 2016.

The woman, a 40-year-old mother was with her child at home in the 2800 block of Adelaide Avenue when a FedEX employee arrived at her house with a delivery.

Police say a stranger forced his way inside of the house and grabbed the package and tried to run off, hitting the women with a potted plant in the process.

Jendyk was known to a police at the time of the attempted robbery.

The woman was treated at hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
