Woman found impaired, slumped over steering wheel on West Shore
A woman was taken into police custody early Tuesday morning in Langford after a West Shore RCMP patrol officer found her slumped over the wheel of her vehicle at the curb on Hoffman at Winster Road.
The officer approached the vehicle to check on the woman's well-being and noticed signs of drug impairment and a bag of a white, powdered substance on her person. A search yielded 14 grams of a suspected opioid, which was seized by police.
The woman, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
She was released by police and issued a 24 hour prohibition from driving, and her vehicle was also impounded.
The investigation is ongoing.
