Childish Gambino Coming To Montreal's Osheaga Festival
Childish Gambino, The Chemical Brothers and The Lumineers will headline the 2019 edition of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal.
The diverse line-up also features singer Janelle Monae, reggaeton star J Balvin, singer-songwriter Hozier, rappers Logic and Gucci Mane, and Fifth Harmony alum Normani.
The Lumineers will wrap up the festival’s opening night; The Chemical Brothers will headline on the Saturday night; and Childish Gambino will close Osheaga on Sunday.
Fans can take in all genres of music, from the synth-pop of Hayley Kiyoko to the soulful sounds of St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Interpol, Tame Impala, and Kodaline are among the bands on the list.
Canadian talent hitting the Osheaga stages include alt-rockers City and Colour and Mac DeMarco, singers Jessie Reyez and Lennon Stella, rock bands The Glorious Sons, Metric, and Dear Rouge, pop singer bülow, and electronic music duo Bob Moses.
Montreal acts in the line-up include Black Tiger Sex Machine, The Franklin Electric, Kaytranada, and We Are Monroe.
The 14th edition of the popular festival takes place Aug. 2 to 4. It returns to its original site in Parc Jean-Drapeau, which underwent a $73-million renovation. The site is only steps from a metro station and minutes from downtown Montreal.
Organizers promise festival-goers a “more comfortable and spacious” space with seven stages as well as carnival rides, a new shaded “hammocks-zone,” and the YUL EAT Gardens.
Weekend passes, which range from $325 to $1,250, are available now via the Osheaga website. Single day passes will be available at a later date.
