Mick Jagger To Undergo Heart Surgery: Report
Mick Jagger will undergo heart valve replacement surgery in New York City this week, according to Drudge Report.
Over the weekend, the Rolling Stones announced the U.S. legs of their No Filter tour, including one show north of Toronto, have been postponed so Jagger can undergo medical treatment.
No specifics were provided but promoters said the singer is “expected to make a completely recovery.”
On Saturday, Jagger tweeted: “I’m so sorry to all our fans … with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”
The Stones were scheduled to kick off the new leg of the tour in Miami on April 20 and wrap it up with a huge outdoor show at the Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, north of Toronto, on June 29.
Band members were spotted this weekend at a luxury hotel in Miami Beach. Jagger was out and about, enjoying some fun in the sand with girlfriend Melanie Hamrick and son Deveraux and daughter Georgia May.
Jagger, who turns 76 in July, tweeted last month that he was “looking forward to heading back to Canada” and promised the concert “will be a good one!”
