Our Lady Peace Resurrects Summersault
Summersault is making a comeback this year, it was announced Tuesday.
Our Lady Peace and Bush will headline the fest, which will stop in five Canadian cities. Support acts include Live, Dear Rouge and Human Kebab.
Summersault was created by Our Lady Peace in 1998 as a celebration of Canadian bands – including Moist, I Mother Earth and Sloan – and, in 2000, added international acts like Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins.
“It was the first time many of these bands had ever visited or played cities like Edmonton, Winnipeg & Halifax,” OLP frontman Raine Maida recalled, in a statement. “We are proud to have exposed them to these and other incredible Canadian cities back in 2000 and this year feels like the right time to relaunch Summersault.
“We couldn't be more excited to bring it to Canada again.”
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on May 24.
The Summersault line-up is, in fact, a repackaging of the ALT-IMATE Tour by Bush and Live, which features Our Lady Peace as opening act. The bands are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their albums Sixteen Stone, Throwing Copper and Naveed respectively.
Bush performs on July 24 at K Days in Edmonton.
