Queen + Adam Lambert To Headline Global Citizens Festival
This year’s Global Citizens Festival in New York City will include performances by Queen and Adam Lambert, Pharrell Williams and Alicia Keys.
“Like Live Aid in 1985, we believe this concert will be a milestone,” Queen’s Brian May said, in a statement. “It will generate practical solutions to address the world’s glaring anomalies.
“Global Citizen is an organization which has already moved mountains. We hope this concert will be the beginning of a new era in which all creatures on Earth will eventually benefit.”
Also set to take the stage in Central Park on Sept. 28 are OneRepublic, French Montana, Ben Platt, Jon Batiste & Stay Human, H.E.R. and Carole King. Guests will include Rachel Brosnahan, Bill Nye, Rami Malek, Matt Bomer, Taraji P. Henson, Joy Reid and Forest Whitaker.
The festival, which is timed to take place during the United Nations General Assembly meetings, calls on governments and corporations to combat infectious diseases, empower females around the world, reduce plastic pollution and provide education to all.
Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness will host the event. Free tickets are available via the Global Citizen app.
