Nearly 50 dead, more than 20 injured in New Zealand mosque shooting

Authorities in New Zealand says it appears migrants were the target of two shootings at mosques in Christchurch, which left nearly 50 dead and more than 20 injured.

Police have taken three men and a woman into custody, one of whom has been charged with murder.

Officials have not confirmed if one of the suspects is a man who claimed responsibility, and left a 74-page anti-immigrant manifesto outlining his reasoning.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says while many affected by the shootings may be migrants or refugees, ``they have chosen to make New Zealand their home, and it is their home. They are us.''
