R.C.M.P. receives several complaints about motorists transporting unsecured loads

Mounties say they've received several complaints about vehicles travelling on roads with unsecured items and equipment in and behind vehicles.

Some of those items include lawn mowers and snow blowers being transported in trailers or open-bed pickup trucks.

Police say drivers are required to secure items with straps or rope and that failing to do so could result in a fine of $172.50.

If you see anyone towing or carrying unsecured items, you're asked to contact your local police department.
