Barony NB man sentenced to two years in prison on drug, weapons charges

A 67-year-old Barony  man has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Jean Claude Ouellet appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on February 8th and received a two-year prison sentence following a guilty verdict on seven charges including trafficking in cocaine and cannabis, possession of illegal tobacco and unsafe storage of firearms.

He was also ordered to submit a DNA sample, is facing $1630 in fines, and is prohibited from owning firearms for 10 years, as well as prohibited from acquiring prohibited firearms for life.

Ouellet was arrested on February 5, 2016, following an investigation that began in 2015 and was aimed at disrupting a criminal network supplying large quantities of illegal drugs in the Nackawic area.
