CJ104 Crime of the Week

Once again the region is being targeted by foreign persons who are using computer websites to lure unsuspecting people into convincing you they are in a friendly and romantic relationship.  The objective of these criminals is over time, to convince you they need your financial help and are asking you to send them money. The money they will claim is to pay for a sick family member, it will be used to pay for travel to meet with you or some other excuse.  You can be assured the chances of the two of you ever meeting will never happen or that their family member needs help does not exist.  It is not uncommon for victims to make several money transfers to these criminals.  Never send money to a complete stranger.  You will never see your money again.

The region has experienced a large number of criminal acts in recent months.  These acts mainly include break, enter and theft of tools and other items from residential property, storage buildings and contractor trailers.to name but a few.  These random acts of vandalism create personal hardship for the home owner or business.  The public is reminded to keep their buildings, homes and vehicles secure at all times.  Vacant property requires extra precaution.  If you have any knowledge about any of these criminal acts, contact Crime Stoppers with your information and you will be eligible for a cash award.

The Crime Stoppers New Brunswick Crime of the Week is brought to you by Keenan Construction, The Concrete and Excavation Experts, in Woodstock.
