Deer herds spotted in herds across the province this month
April may be known for showers, but also herds of deer.
Deer are spotted more in April than in other months because the deer are hungry after going through the long winter and are coming out into the fields to get vegetation.
Department of Natural Resources Deer Biologist Joe Kennedy says herds of 20 to 50 deer or more is not uncommon, especially this time of year,
Kennedy says deer tend to group in family clusters- and reminds motorists to be concious that deer may cross roads and highways in herds this month more than other months.
