Four local students to attend SHAD summer program

Four students from the Grand Falls area are among 801 high schoolers to attend SHAD, a month-long Canadian enrichment program focused on youth innovation and entrepreneurship.

Students live in residence for the month of July, attending lectures and workshops from top faculty focused around science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).

They're presented with a theme or social problem at the beginning of the program and have to devise an original product or service to address it.

Polyvalente Thomas-Albert Grade 10 students Céline Kavanaugh, Valérie Belliveau, and Danika Fournier, along with Grade 12 student Xavier Hébert-Couturie are taking part.

There are thirteen universities in Canada taking part, and the local participants will be spread out across the country.
