Funding announced for Edmundston Airport upgrades

The federal and provincial governments are each investing $375,000 for infrastructure upgrades to the Edmundston Airport

A news release from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) says the work will enable the facility to provide vital services like air ambulance service and ensure its long-term viability.

The work includes upgrades to the airport terminal to make it accessible to passengers and ambulance patients, and fencing will also be installed to increase the security and safety of the runway.

The federal funding is through ACOA's Innovative Communities Fund, while the province's share is through the Regional Development Corporation.
