Hundreds expected to greet PM Trudeau in Fredericton Tuesday

Hundreds of people are expected to turn out at a town hall forum in Fredericton featuring Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Tuesday morning's event at The Cultural Centre on Saunders Street is being hosted by Fredericton MP Matt Decourcey and the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber was asking people to RSVP ahead of the event, but CEO Krista Ross told our newsroom they had to close registrations Monday morning when it exceeded 800 people.

A tweet sent out by the Chamber on Monday morning said pre-registration doesn't guarantee entry to the event, which starts at 9 a.m.

Ross said those who have registered should plan to arrive around 8:30 a.m.

The stop is part of Trudeau's national outreach tour to reconnect with ordinary Canadians.
