Jury selection to begin next week in murder case in Campbellton

Jury selection gets under way next Monday in the case of a man charged in the 2013 death of two young Campbellton boys--and there were so many people called for consideration that proceedings are being held at the Campbellton Civic Centre.

Between 500 and 600 people were summoned, a number Sheriff Gabriel Desforges says is rare for the region--noting it had only happened one other time over the past 25 years.

Jean-Claude Savoie was charged after an African rock python escaped its enclosure and asphyxiated the young brothers.
