Minimum wage change delayed til April
The promised increase to minimum wage here in the province will be delayed a bit longer.
The promise made by the New Brunswick Liberal government to increase minimum wage to $11 an hour by 2017 has been changed slightly.
Minister of Post Secondary Education, Training and labour Donald Arsenault recently told CBC news the increase would likely happen in April of this year.
The news comes as a relief for the business community, who had voiced concerns during a meeting with the province a few months ago.
Arseneault said an announcement on minimum wage was planned before the holidays, but unforeseen weather forced the government to postpone.
It's now planned for later this month.
